Strawberry Picking
We went to a u-pick farm to get some strawberries this past Saturday. It was a great trip--about a half hour one way, beautiful day, and the strawberries were Delicious! (note the capital "D"). Ryan and Danielle picked a full basket (him finding them, her pulling them off the plants) before I had more than two dozen...guess I need some practice :) I did wonder whatever made me think it was a good idea to be hugely pregnant, doing an activity that meant squatting down every few seconds...especially when my acid refluxed up into my throat every time I bent down! A berry flavored Tums helped solve that though. Danielle loved it (we all did) and we ended up with a bunch of berries to freeze (and eventually turn into jam). Here are some pictures from our trip:

Danielle's birthday
Danielle had a great birthday week between having Easter candy and presents to play with during the first half, opening family gifts in the middle (on Wednesday, her actual birthday), and then having a party this past Saturday that involved opening more presents and having "happy cake" as she likes to call it.
We celebrated her birthday with a cookout and Elmo-themed birthday decorations. I think her favorite part was having everyone sing to her--I've never seen her light up so much before! She also really enjoyed opening presents, a concept she has definitely caught on to with this birthday :) Thank you to all the family and friends who called, wrote, came to the cook out and/or sent presents!
Here are some pictures from her bday and from the cookout. The birthday outfit I made her didn't make it into any of the pictures (it was covered in cheet-o dust before I got the camera out on Saturday), but I had professional pictures taken a bit ago and will get those sent out soon. Unless the baby comes before I get to it. Then you're out of luck for a while...
