January AGAIN

So, I am so on top of things, I'm already posting some more. You'll find pictures, in order, of: my tamale pie, breakfast I made for dinner, two cute little baby tees I bought for baby girl Ray and a picture of a baby bathrobe I made for a friend who is expecting, modeled by the cartoon character Stewie. Enjoy!!

January updates

Okay, so this makes me current and should buy me a least a month or two free from nagging...At least, it's almost current. I have a picture of the food I made tonight to add still. That's right, I'm nesting, and so I'm just gonna post pictures of what I cook... Someday I will have cute baby pictures to post, but until then, please enjoy looking at my sushi.

This is the sushi I made that is safe for pregnant ladies. I really miss sushi. I've already asked Ryan to bring me sushi and Mountain Dew in the the hospital after I give birth. Baby girl is worth giving them up for, though. Anyways, I thought my first attempt turned out pretty good.

And here's how I turned out after my first attempt. There's a bunch of rice stuck to my belly, which is conveniently the same height as the counter :)

Stay tuned for more exciting action in January, with Tamale pie and baby shower pics (not mine) still to come! There won't be any pictures of Ryan, since he is at sea, but this is his last underway EVER so I'm okay with that. Ooh, and if you're lucky, I may get around to making lemon cake and it will look delicious on my blog!

Updates (Dec)

So here are some pictures from things that happened in December.

The biggest thing for us was our ultrasound at 19 weeks. We had a 3D/4D ultrasound and found out we are having a baby girl!! We are going to go again in a few weeks because then she will have a little fat on her. As you can see in the picture, at this point she was all skin and bones and looked like a cute little mummy.

Here's a picture of Ryan in the Carhart overalls he bought himself. He asked for them for Christmas but couldn't wait. He wanted them to put the Christmas lights up, since it was pretty cold.

Here's my husband looking handsome (his normal look) and asleep. I don't know how he ended up with a pillow on his face, but he does always end up with the kitties next to him.
Somehow we have the kind of cats that act like besotted puppies. They don't leave us alone. But he likes it. I gave him the option to get a puppy, but he picked a baby. So now we have our baby on the way and cats that act like dogs. It's the best of both worlds :)

Ryan took me to see the Nutcracker in December. We got all fancied up like grown people. I do so like to see him in a suit.
The ballet was really nice except for the trucker-sized lady who sat in front of me. Ryan switched with me at intermission and I got a better view after that.
I can't wait until our little girl is big enough to take to see the show!

Here are the two sweetest, cutest little baby girls in the world. We got to go visit Morgan and Taylor, and their mom and dad, for Christmas. My parents were there also. It was a rocky trip, taking more than 24 hours just to get to Texas (holiday delays are terrible!), but it was so worth it to spend time with family. The company was wonderful, the tree was beautiful, and it was just awesome.

Random updates (Oct/Nov)

Hmm, don't even know where to start with the updates. But I wanted to put something up just for you Linda Quinonez :)

This is me with my nieces Morgan and Taylor. I got to visit them in mid-October when they were just over two months old. They are the cutest, sweetest babies I have ever met.

Here is my belly back in mid November when Mom came to visit. The mess and the clothes are because we were cleaning. She stayed for almost two weeks and we knocked out a ton of stuff on the to-do list for my house. One of my favorite projects was the cable runs we used to make everything neater.

Here is my first successful attempt at bacon. I've failed many a times over the past few years to cook bacon. But, for about three weeks back in October/November, I couldn't eat hamburger or chicken so bacon was my only option. I guess I could have eaten the other meats (and thrown up), but for some reason the baby didn't want them. 3 weeks without meat, it was awful. I don't know how vegetarians do it. But I do make some good bacon now!

Here's what I looked like on Thanksgiving. Not a very flattering picture, but I don't have many pictures to choose from. My mother in law, Barbara, came down for the holiday. It got a little tense because I went through an I-don't-like-other-women hormone phase, but Barbara was very gracious about it and I got over it and the visit ended up being really nice. We went to the Arts and Crafts fair in Virginia Beach and got most of our Christmas shopping done. A few of you still have presents on the way :) I'll get those out, promise. We also went nuts at the fabric store, buying flannel to make burp rags. After Barbara left, I continued to go nuts at the fabric store. I'm really into making baby bathrobes right now. If you're having a baby, let me know, I'll make you a bathrobe.
